What is Part Time Works?

Part Time Works is a staffing company dedicated to the placement of employees into part time positions in the small business, non-profit, and association, non-profit arenas. 

How are billing rates and pay rates determined?

Your bill rate and the employees pay rate are determined by the requirements of the position. Once we determine the specifics of the position you need filled, we will tell you the hourly rate we would bill for the position. Return to top.

What does the hourly rate cover?

Your bill rate includes the employee’s hourly pay rate, workers’ compensation insurance, unemployment insurance, payroll, recruiting, and hiring. Unless background checks and/or drug testing is requested, Part Time Works′ clients do not incur any further costs beyond the hourly bill rate. Return to top.

Do you place independent contractors?

Part Time Works does not typically place independent contractors. Return to top.

Are you willing to place employees for an in-home business?

At this time, Part Time Works does not place our employees in home businesses. However, we understand there are unique business environments and are happy to speak with you to discuss your needs. Return to top.

What is part-time, long-term placement?

We hope that you will find part time employees to be not only beneficial to your business, but crucial to your future. Our goal is to find candidates to fill part time positions that you will utilize for months and years to come. This is what is meant by part-time, long-term placement.

While the majority of the positions we place are of this long-term nature, we do on occasion staff for more temporary positions if they provide a unique role such as a meeting or event planner, or for a project basis. Return to top.

Can you assist me with a direct hire?

Part Time Works can help you find the perfect part-time employee to go directly onto your payroll. We call this a Direct Placement. Part Time Works will still perform all of the recruiting/screening functions we usually perform but once you select an employee they will go directly onto your payroll. What if I love my Part Time Works employee and want to put them directly onto my payroll?

Part Time Works does give our clients the option to “Buy-Out” their Part Time Works employee after 6 months. Our Buy-Out fee is the average monthly billing paid by the client during the prior 6 months. We do offer a 90 day pro-rated guarantee on all Buy-Outs. Return to top.

What happens if the employee is not working out?

If the Part Time Works employee you select doesn’t work out for any reason, simply call Part Time Works and we will end the placement. Hopefully you will allow Part Time Works to resume the search for the right employee. Return to top.

How do I know the employee really has the skills the position requires?

We perform a comprehensive screening of all candidates with regard to having the appropriate skills needed for the position. If required, we can conduct skills testing for specific software and processes. Return to top.

What are the education requirements for your candidates?

Part Time Works connects our clients with dedicated and qualified professionals. All employees of Part Time Works must meet a minimum requirement of at least one year of higher education or five years or more in relevant work experience in addition to any job-specific requirements; the majority of our candidates tend to hold four-year degrees, and many of them have obtained master’s degrees. We will fine tune our recruiting efforts to match your specific needs to ensure you get the highest quality candidates possible. Return to top.

Does Part Time Works conduct background checks and drug testing?

At the employer’s discretion, Part Time Works can conduct background checks on potential job candidates. We can also conduct standard drug testing, should you deem it necessary. Return to top.

Do you conduct reference checks?

Yes. Part Time Works typically conducts reference checks and relays any pertinent information to our client. Return to top.

How many hours can the employee work?

Part Time Works employees generally work from 4 to 35 hours per week. Placements may not work overtime without pre-approval from the client. Return to top.

Can you staff a full-time job?

Yes, Part Time Works does have candidates looking for 40 hour per week positions. We typically charge a one-time fee for this service.  Part Time Works does offer a 90-day pro-rated guarantee on all Direct Placements. If you would like us to help you find a great full-time employee we will perform the same screening functions but once hired, the employee would go directly onto your payroll. Return to top.

How will a Part Time Works part-time employee fit in with the rest of my office?

How does Part Time Works bill me for services?
